Autopsy Reveals Omega Sesay Was Strangled And Poisoned to Death – Family Refutes Drug Rumors

SierraLoaded News | 6/2/2026, 3:28:06 PM

he family of Abdul Rahmadan “Omega” Sesay, a prominent All People’s Congress (APC) official recently found dead in a Lungi hotel room, has released post-mortem results indicating he was strangled and potentially poisoned. The findings categorically dismiss widespread social media rumors that his death was the result of a drug or alcohol overdose. According to a public notice issued by the grieving family, the autopsy conducted in Freetown revealed clear evidence of foul play. Pathologists determined that Sesay’s neck was broken, which led to strangulation. Furthermore, the examination uncovered indications of severe food poisoning, with medical examiners noting that his gut was found to be black. The release of the post-mortem results serves as a direct rebuttal to online speculation and blog reports alleging that Sesay died from consuming “pegga pack,” illicit drugs, or excessive alcohol. “We wish to inform the general public that these claims are false, misleading, and unsupported by the findings of the post-mortem examination,” the family’s statement read. They urged media practitioners, bloggers, and the public to stop circulating unverified claims that tarnish the late politician’s legacy, asking for dignity and respect during their period of profound grief. The grim autopsy results add a disturbing new layer to a case that has already rocked the Port Loko District. Sesay was discovered lifeless in a hotel room in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, just hours after watching the UEFA Champions League final. He had been seen earlier that day in a widely circulated video wearing a blue vest and red cap. According to earlier reports, he was allegedly killed alongside a woman identified as Mary Sia Bangura. Following the discovery, APC Hon. Abdul Kargbo coordinated the immediate transfer of Sesay’s remains to Freetown for the autopsy. Police in Lungi have already taken three suspects into custody in connection with the alleged murders, though authorities have not yet released the identities of the detainees or a suspected motive.
